Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ)
- Masters in Economics Degree from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ)
- PhD in Economics from Stellenbosch University (SU)
Tapiwa has held a number of professional roles including, General Secretary for the National Employment Council for the Engineering Iron and Steel Industry, CEO of the Engineering Medical Fund (EMF) (1998-2008), Minister of Economic Planning and Investment Promotion (2010-2013). Currently, Tapiwa is a Member of Parliament for Hatfield (2000-2023), a member of the Public Accounts Committee and Budget and Finance and Environment, Climate Change and Tourism, the Chairperson of the Committee on Trade, Customs and Immigration Matters (African Union/Pan African Parliament), a member of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Investment Network and a member of the African Union Labour Migration Advisory Committee (LMAC). He is the founder and Executive Director of Maji-Marefu Institute of International Relations, Security Studies and Sustainable Development Goals.
